I've had a really busy two weeks and have one massive paper due (tomorrow) between me and spring break...one which I've barely started. So naturally, I'm thinking about...baseball. I have tix to Reds opening day and am pumped. Then I saw firejoemorgan's piece today about the Mets' 2007 slogan "Your time has come." It made me start thinking about other teams' slogans. Rather than propose them for everyone else though, I thought I'd just propose some for the Reds and others can chime in with theirs: "The Reds 2008 outfield: Dunn, Bruce, Griffey: They could beat you in a fight." "2008 Reds sans Josh Hamilton: now with 50% less cocaine addicts." "Who the f* is Edison Volquez." "Featuring Aaron Harang, second place in Cole Hamels Awards voting." "2008 Reds: Don't look now (seriously), but we just signed Corey Patterson." And finally... "2008 Reds: Yes, Kent Mercker is still alive." Honorable mention: "2008 Pennant Race: 90 wins or Cincy racism runs Dusty out of town."
